Sunday school classes
Using Roll Call's group management is a great solution for monitoring your Sunday school classes. Use the Group screen to enter the name of the group, the days and times that the group meets as well as the members/students of that class.
You can even customize the information you track for the members of this class. Maybe you need to know if a student has memorized a verse or brought a friend to class. You could create "custom" fields to track that information.
To really understand who your regular attenders are its nice to record attendance for the classes. That way you can run reports to see who hasn't attended in awhile, or you can see if a particular visitor has started coming regularly. Then you can follow up with folks as needed. If you want to automate the attendance process consider using Roll Call's check in system.
One of the most time-consuming activities that children's ministry folks have to deal with is graduating their students. Roll Call will save you hours of time here. With Roll Call there are several methods that can be used to graduate. The simplest form is to "clone" a group. For example if you have a '09 1st grade class, you can clone that class and name it '10 2nd grade. That's it. Your class is now graduated.
Do you need to report attendance figures to the elders or to a district office? There are many attendance type reports that can be run to show how many children are attending each class.
