How do I change family relationships?

In our first example, let's say that you have two single adults in your system.  They decide to get married.  You can combine these two families into one family by doing the following:

1)  Select People>Find from the main Roll Call menu
2)  Enter the last name of woman who is getting married and click SEARCH
3)  Double click on her record to get to the Edit Person window
4)  Click on the Head of Family check box or select Additional>Change HOF from the menu (upper left)

5)  Mark the option to make this person a member of another family
6)  Enter her husbands last name
7)  Click OK
8)  You'll be presented with a list of people with that last name, choose the person she is marrying
9)  They are now combined into the same family.  Make sure to change last names, marital status and spouse name field as appropriate.

In our next example, let's say there is a divorce in the family.  To seperate this family into two families, do the following:

1)  Select People>Find from the main Roll Call menu
2)  Enter the last name for the family getting divorced
3)  Double click on the wife's record
4)  Click on the HOF checkbox, or select Additional>Change HOF from the menu (upper left)

5)  Mark the selection for making this person the head of a new family
6)  Highlight any other family members that should be moved with the mom
7)  Mark the box to retain her current address
8)  Click OK
