Why does the data dialog box come up when I start the program the first time? 

Roll Call needs to know where to store your churches information. This is called your data file. You may either select the empty data file that is provided with the program (ROLLCALL_8.4DD on Windows or ROLLCALL.DATA on the Mac) or you can create and name your own data file by pressing the New button.
