How do I backup?

If you are using version 8.2.01 or later of Roll Call, select Admin>Backup from the main menu. Press the Backup Now button to create a backup file of your data file. This backup will be stored in the backup folder. The backup file is located:

On Windows:

Program Files>BytheBook>RollCall>Backup>datestamp.4dd and datestamp.4dr

On Mac:

Applications>RollCall>Backup>datestamp.data

These files should be copied off to a CD or external removable drive. This will protect you in case your hard drive crashes.

If you are using an earlier version of Roll Call, you will need to manually copy your data file. Determine the location of your data file.

On Windows:

1. Highlight the *.4dd file as well as the *.4dr file

2. Copy the files by selecting Copy, then Paste

3. Move the copies to CD or other removable external drive

On the Mac:

1. Highlight the *.data

2. Copy the files by selecting Copy, then Paste

3. Move the copies to CD or other removable external drive
