How do I combine 2 families or separate families for marriage and divorce?

To combine 2 singles into one family, for marriage, simply go to the woman’s record. Select the Additional >Change HOF from the menu. Enter the husband’s last name and select the appropriate record from the list returned.

To combine 2 families where there are children involved, go to the children’s records first. Select Additional>Change HOF from the menu. Enter the new Head of Family’s last name and select the appropriate record. Once all the children have been moved to the new family, do the same for the wife’s record.

To separate a family, for divorce, go to the record of the person you’ll be removing from the family. Select Additional>Change HOF from the menu. Click on the SELF button to make that person the Head of a new family.
