Roll Call Version 9 Now Available
Announcing the release of Roll Call version 9. Roll Call version 9 includes many new features to save you time, add flexibility to the information you keep and increase security for your class check-in areas.
The Live Check-In feature automatically records attendance for those attending classes or other meetings. With this feature you can set up check-in workstations. The student or parent can swipe a bar code badge to check themselves into a class. If they forgot their badge or your church doesn’t want to use badges, they can enter their last name and check into the class. Roll Call will then print out labels for the child and parent. If your church would like to record check-out times, Roll Call can do that as well.
The new user interface for the group area allows you to easily accomplish your set-up and maintenance tasks. From one screen you can select one or more groups and print rosters, print labels, send emails, write letters, and create reports.
With the new version of Roll Call you also have much more flexibility in defining your groups. Groups are now defined by “group type”. Your church defines what these types are. They can be as basic as groups and classes, or you can further refine your types, for example, Sunday school class, adult Sunday school, small group, events, etc. If your church has multiple satellite locations, you can use the campus field to indicate the location the group stems from.
Once you define your group types, you can define what information you’d like to capture for each of the different group types. Roll Call version 9 also allows you to define as many sessions (what day and time the group/class meets) as you’d like. There is no limitation on the number of sessions.
Save time creating new groups by using the “Clone” feature. Cloning allows you to copy groups. You can copy a template of a group with just the custom field definitions, or you can copy the entire group including sessions and group members. This makes graduating classes much easier.
You can further customize Roll Call using the people custom fields. Roll Call version 9 allows you to create up to 20 text fields, 20 checkbox fields and 20 date fields. This allows you to easily capture the information your church needs for your congregation.
In Roll Call version 9 email address, work, fax, pager and cell phones have all been moved into their own fields in the people table. This allows you to easily search on or report on this information. By capturing an individual and a family email address you also have more control over which address is used when sending emails.
